The print absorbs light and releases it slowly in the dark. Leave them under a bedroom light, lamp or daylight for a few minutes before bed. The longer the charge, the brighter and longer-lasting the glow.

The absorbent layers with a waterproof backing are designed to hold a night-time accident, keeping pyjamas, sheets and mattress dry. Fit matters more than most parents expect — the pants should sit snug at the waist and legs, as a loose fit is the most common cause of leaks. Order by your child's waist and hip measurements rather than their age.

Straight in with the normal wash at 40 degrees, with similar colours. Don't tumble dry, don't dry clean, and avoid ironing directly onto the print. They'll be dry and ready for the following night. Absorbency improves slightly over the first few washes, so give them a wash before first wear.

Always go by measurements, not age. Take the waist circumference at the natural waistline and the hip circumference at the fullest part, then check against the size chart. Children vary a lot at these ages, so a seven-year-old might sit in a 5-6 or a 7-8.
